The Projects Section
Both investors and entrepreneurs are requested to create a project. The details you provide for the project will be then used to match you with like-minded individuals (entrepreneurs will have to fill in more details as their projects come with a business plan section, with the option to hide sensitive details until you allow trusted contacts access). You can create multiple projects to cover all of your professional interests.
Goals can be attached to your projects, whether it’s for funding, mentoring, or hiring. These goals allow us to match you with the correct people and no one else. So, for example, if you’re looking to give/receive an amount of investment Y country, we’ll only match you with projects which specify looking for the funding in Y country.
The Matches Section
With our simple business card-inspired display features, browsing our database feels more like a breeze than a chore. Our innovative algorithm will present you with the matches which correspond most to your needs. You can either browse the results based on the automatic match score or by applying your own filters, providing unique combinations for project type, industry, country, stage and goal.
Once you like a project and would like to get in touch with the person behind it, you can them a contact request with the option to add an introductory note . You also have access to an array of management tools to improve your browing experience such as the ability to bookmark, hide, and report projects.
The Contacts Section
This is where the entrepreneurial magic happens! Once you’ve connected with someone over a shared interest in a project, you can message them in Contacts. We provide this service, so you remain secure at all times and to save you the trouble of sharing your personal contact details with other users. The Contacts section provides you with a rolodex of all the people who’re interested in your project.
Our messaging system is secure and quick, it is encrypted end-to-end so we’ve eliminated the risk of your information being lost, leaked, or copied. You can exchange texts, voice recordings, and most types of media files (with video and voice calls coming soon) to close the deal with your contacts.
The Account Section
Don’t miss the chance to make your account stand out by adding a personal summary and providing your educational and career history. What’s more, is that you can link all your professional social media accounts and website to show your potential matches how serious you are. Do keep in mind that the more complete your personal information is, the more trustworthy your account will appear.
All AfriOn accounts are reviewed by our customer service team to assign a professionalism score. This internal process helps us maintain a high-quality environment with fruitful leads. Last, Account is where you can manage your profile’s visibility to other users and modify your email and password.
